If you’re tired of your SIG Blomax line grinding to a halt because another heater bulb popped, you know exactly how frustrating it is. We decided to fix that by beefing up the structural reinforcement of our lamps so they can actually handle the beating. What’s actually happening inside the bulb? Normally, when a bulb heats up and expands, it puts a ton of pressure on the pinch seal. That’s where the crack starts. We changed the thickness of the quartz wall and tweaked the filament support to move that stress point. The result? A bulb that doesn’t freak out when the machine starts vibrating. And the best part is that it’s a simple swap. You don’t have to mess with your PLC settings or spend your afternoon rewiring panels. You just pop them in and get back to work. A quick heads-up on the heat We make sure these match your SIG system’s wattage and voltage perfectly. You still get that immediate, intense heat needed to deform PET quickly. But, because we made the quartz stronger, the infrared light moves through it a little differently. You might notice a tiny shift. If the bottles aren’t looking quite right, just nudge your oven temperature set-points up or down a few degrees. It takes a second, and you’ll be right back in the sweet spot. Keeping things running on the floor These bulbs are designed specifically for the Blomax footprint, and they get rid of that “eggshell” feeling you get with OEM parts. It means your maintenance crew stops spending their shift fishing shards of broken glass out of the oven. That’s a win for everyone. One last tip: keep your reflectors clean. If they’re covered in grime, the lamp has to work twice as hard and run much hotter to hit your target temp. That’ll kill any bulb, no matter how tough we build it.
