What Makes This heater Tick
We built this retail heater around a direct-radiant halogen lamp, because point-of-sale areas need serious, focused heat. It runs at 2500W on a 400V circuit—just enough power to pack a punch without pulling crazy current. That voltage-and-power combo keeps wiring short and tidy, especially when you’re retrofitting an older space. Just plan for a properly rated contactor and thermal protection on the control panel. And the 300mm tube? It focuses the infrared heat into a tight beam, so the warmth lands right where you point it—not all over the ceiling.
Built to Last
The heart of it is a quartz envelope, chosen because it stays steady at high temps and won’t crack when things heat up fast. Inside, the halogen gas keeps the filament strong, so output stays consistent over the life of the lamp. The reflector has a high-temperature coating that pushes more heat forward and shields the housing from that re-radiated heat. Then there’s the R7s connector—a straight, two-pin setup that makes wiring clean and lamp swaps quick. You wire it once, and from then on, swapping the lamp is as simple as popping it in.
Why It Works in Retail
Retail heat needs to feel immediate and stay local. This lamp throws infrared heat the second it’s on, so people feel warmth right away—no waiting around for air systems to catch up. The footprint is small, so it slips into tight ceiling or wall spots, and the quartz build is tough enough to handle the vibration and temperature swings of a busy storefront. Just keep one thing in mind: it delivers a lot of heat density. Make sure you’ve got enough airflow and heat management around the fixture, so nearby components don’t get cooked.
